Well done to everyone who entered. The final was a mixture of two old boys and two young brothers out to beat each other. The younger of the two alex made it his event and oscar had to be content with second, Richard unsworth was third with steve hart in forth. These boys can`t enter the next underdog sesson so make sure you do okey....

Small surf and plenty of sunshine again ment we had plenty of time to get a sun tan. The conditions were fine until the finals which made it very hard going. The maddox brothers had another good result in the juniors,the open final was more like a BLU final, The masters had the most entrys and the ladies were doing battle for the top slot.

60`S STYLEMASTERS

The surf forecast was small but everyone wanted to go with it so we went ahead. The contest is the only one of its kind in england and it has a strong following of the traditional style from the old school. Big thanks to the guys from sennen who travelled up and showcased the true 60`s style of surfing and everyone for making the contest what it is... fun, laid back and a true show of old school surfing.

Thanks to our sponsers, MIKE DUDLEY who provided the prize money and BEN LONGHURST from TOES ON THE NOSE who provided the classic 60`s style teeshirts. We had more entrys for the masters than the open and a few of the youngsters gave it a go,it was quite funny watching the kids carrying the old pre -1970 logs down the beach. As it was small we didn`t have many boards being lost as this contest is a no-leash event. There was no seeding , we threw all the names in a hat and drew them out to make it a lottery. The guys had to pick a number out of the hat which gave them the order of choice for the boards. If anyone brought they`re own board they could ride it, we had four boards from mike dudleys collection and four others that were brought to the contest. They included a, dewey webber, bilbo,hanson,harbour,scott dillon 64 and a haiden 65 . I rode the dewey webber with a massive hatched fin and the weight alone destroyed me but it was fun .... Minnow green even made an appearance and made the masters final.

James parry,sam bleakley, richard emmerson and alex from noosa all came up from sennen and blew everyone away with the pure coolness of the style and ability they have amonst them. Alex white from NOOSA (australia) was unlucky to not make the open final as was pete wilkins from the BRISTOL SURF CLUB. Shaun marlow was the stand out in the masters division and cruised into 1st place over the ever green eric davies. The most impressive surfers of the day were JAMES PARRY and SAM BLEAKLEY both from sennen and masters of the tradional art of longboarding 60`s style.

It was great to see everyone enjoying the day and having fun, even contest director MINNOW GREEN had a day off from running contests to participate and went home with some prize money. Well thanks alot to everyone who came along and heres to next year........

Conditions were far from perfect but well done to everyone, hopefully 3ft clean next time eh.

Well done to the juniors from Jersey and the new boys on the team, Ian Allison, Tim Alcock, Deva Situnayake and especially Gwithian local Adrian Wesley who made the final of the masters and finished 3rd.

The conditions were okay for the morning but got worse in the afternoon as the tide went out. Skindog, Geordie and Greg Robinson made it look easy but beleive me it wasn`t.

I personally had the hold down of my life and won`t forget in a while.
