LADIES WILL RUN AT NEXT UNDERDOGS.
Conditions were far from perfect but well done to everyone, hopefully 3ft clean next time eh.
Well done to the juniors from Jersey and the new boys on the team, Ian Allison, Tim Alcock, Deva Situnayake and especially Gwithian local Adrian Wesley who made the final of the masters and finished 3rd.
The conditions were okay for the morning but got worse in the afternoon as the tide went out. Skindog, Geordie and Greg Robinson made it look easy but beleive me it wasn`t.
I personally had the hold down of my life and won`t forget in a while.

Hotdoggers DVD - Trip to Morocco.
28 club members went to Morocco this February. Andy Haworth has made a 40 minute film of the trips highlights. There are also 2 bonus sections, one being a slide show with contributions from various photographers on the trip (thanks to Mike Stevens in particular) and the other is a short 'wipeout' section for a bit of fun.
The film will be available at the first club contest from Andy or Kelly Haworth. We are proposing that those that went on the trip that want a copy pay £3 which will all be donated to the clubs funds. Any other member that would like a copy can have one for £5, with £2 going to the club and the other to cover Andy's production costs.
There is a short trailer of the film which is best viewed on Andy Haworths Facebook page. So, if you're already marked as a 'friend' on Facebook, just go to Andy's page and check it out. If not, register on Facebook and then go to Andy's page. Its also on Bens website, (but not a great copy for some reason) available at www.benhaworthsurfer.co.uk

Ben wins at Noosa
Ben Haworth, 18 years old from North Devon has won the Mens Open Amateur division of the Noosa Festival of Surfing in Australia, beating 5 Australians in the final. The Noosa Festival of Surf is the largest surf contest in Australia attracting over 600 competitors. This is the first time that Ben has traveled to Australia and entered this prestigious event and a win of this magnitude places Ben as a serious competitor on the international stage. It is also the first time that a British surfer has won this division. This is the first season that Ben has moved out of the junior category and is a fantastic start to his career in the seniors. |

RNLI 2008
As we are already looking forward to next year I just wanted to make your
members aware of how to apply for work next season. We are always looking
out for new (or old!) guards. If they follow the link below they can
find out any info they need or they can contact Phil or myself.
Also I'd like to take the opportunity to say a huge well done to those
guys who have come to the aid of the countless grockles who have got
caught out this year. I hope we can maintain the pressure to get
lifeguards back on the beach at Saunton.
Have a great Christmas and new year, kind regards
